Crackers, Crackers Every where
Fired by the rich and the haves;
Hunger burns the poor bellies
But no morsel to eat they have.
No light to lamp their huts,
Even a Diwali is dark at home.
Amidst mindless show of blitz.
True Diwali should bring cheers
To the poor and the needy
With sweetness and light
Spread on the lives of the humble
CRACKERS ARE OF NO USE,
THEY ARE JUST ENVIRONMENT ABUSE.
JAB DIPO SE HO SAKTA HAI UJIYARA,
TOH KYU LETE HAI HUM PATAKHO KA SAHARA?

A hundred and forty years ago, this very day, was born a man in a middle-class Gujarati business family, who was to devise his own path and principles to redeem himself as a man, even as he was to head a revolution to redeem a nation and its people from the slavery of the mind, as well as that of an imperial power. The essence of his strength came from his belief in truth which he variously extracted from the collective wisdom of all religions, civilizations, and the concept of humanity that dawned on him.
Mahatma Gandhi introduced us to cohesive way of living by way of his valuable principles to build this nation stronger than what it was in 1947, unfortunately, we have failed as a nation in embedding and refining those ethos any further. It looks like we have conveniently buried them deep under the blanket of greed, corruption and materialism. Regrettably, they remain confined to “Khadhi-Gramodyak” or “State emporiums”. But it doesn’t mean that his legacy has abandon us forever. It might look dormant to our senses, nonetheless, its luster will shine through once again and will indeed take us by surprise at an opportune time. Our internal vile will one day capitulate before Gandhiji’s teaching of non-violence, simplicity and belief in truth. His pioneering efforts will not go to such waste. So let his ideologies remain in our hearts and minds, let our children know what they were, and leave rest to the time. Today we feel the need for modern amenities, tomorrow, we never know - we might find solace in these basic values…after all back to basics is the law of the nature.
The tribute to Mahatma Gandhi will never be enough by only writing an article on him and to take an account of his contributions to freedom of the country from the British rule but the real tribute will be to adopt his principles in our way of life and in Indian politics.
Mahatma Gandhi was not only an Indian political leader but a torch bearer and an icon for the whole world who showed the world the path of "AHINSA" (non violence) in place of violence and bloodshed to achieve a goal of freedom for a country which was unthinkable especially at the time when the whole world was involved in a brutal war and bloodshed. The Nuclear Bomb was used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki to achieve the victory. The strategy that he adopted to fight the war of independence was never used before in any country, the movement of Satya Graha, Civil Disobedience, use of Swadeshi Items like Khadi, Dandi March to avoid the Salt Tax was having an overwhelming popularity in Indian people. Mahatma was not only responsible to achieve the freedom but he was also responsible to keep India united by uplifting "UNTOUCHABLES" like Shudras and Dalits by calling them "HARIJAN" the sons of God who were deprived of having equal rights.
Mahatma's dream to develop India was to develop Indian villages first because 80% of Indian population was living in villages and the main occupation of Indian people was agriculture, and for many that was a better strategy and that is why he tried to develop a Panchayti Raj. Mahatma was a role model for many world leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King of U.S.A. & Nelson Mandela of South Africa.
Albert Einstein calls Gandhi as the most enlightened person of all times..
Mahatma Gandhi is most needed to the world in this age of 21st Century of Nuclear and Arms race. His Policy of non violence in this age of violence and terror is the need of the day and the real tribute to him would be to adopt his principles of non violence and to show the world how to make it a peaceful place by quitting the path that leads to violence and disturbs world peace.
Well within an hour, there will a moment which will not wait for anyone but it would be moment which rarely comes. This moment is
09.09.09 09:09
To make this moment really a great one, I think we should do something different and good for our country. Let us switch off all our electrical appliances and save energy for a minute. As according to statistics, every Indian at an average uses 1 unit of electricity every minute. So if we all switch off electric appliance for a minute, we would be able to save around 100 crores of unit. This saved energy can help to lighten many of the village for one night which otherwise remains in Dark.
NITIN BHAYANA From The Heart:
I was coming yesterday from my home. On my way ,in a village, I saw a long queue of women standing to fill their buckets with water. They were standing in sun ,waiting for their turn to draw water. They have taps at their home, but water rarely comes through these taps. So they have to draw underground water turn by turn. This Hectic way of getting water that is one of our basic needs made me to think for a while:"WATER WATER EVERYWHERE NOT A SINGLE DROP TO DRINK."
When I reached my hostel with these thoughts revolving in my mind for those women getting water in such tiring way for their basic needs. Then I saw the students in my hostel wasting water with taps on. Water leakage from water tanks. Students playing with water without any thought of how important water is for others.
This was the instance which made me to realize the importance of water.
Now I come to know how one has to work hard not for his/her earning but for water. We waste water at every instant. apart from wasting water we are making water dirty also.
So from today I pledge to care for water. Hope every citizen of INDIA will join my hands to SAVE WATER.
NOTE: Please do not wait for the instance which will make you feel the importance of water
We all know that India has abundance of talented corrupted people. One maybe surprised that how can a corrupt man be talented but in India this is one of the greatest talent which most of us have acquired. We indians have taken corruption as a way of life. We are not ashamed of it. If bunch of people raise voice against it, we don't support them. But if we have to make our country one of the best we have to do something against it. For this purpose our government has already taken a very positive step by arming the people of India by RTI. But how many people know about its procedure; i guess most of us dont know. If we indians have to do something against corruption this is the best way to do it. For this you dont have to make your life a mess . All you need is to fill a form and for our country we can do that small task by taking out some time of our life. Atleast please visit the site www.rti.gov.in for more information.
When we say, “What has this country given us? Is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta. Is desh ka koi future nahi hai.” No wonder is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta till we the youngsters of this wonderful country don’t start working for it. May be this country has not given you anything(mind it that’s not true at all) but have you ever thought “What have you given to this country??” Well the truth is that it is so convenient to say than to do. And so all of us just want to blame others; and we ourselves do nothing.
STOP BLAMING and START DOING
Well all of us like to enjoy our rights but we don’t think about the duties associated with each right. We all have the right to express our opinion but we have a duty to vote. Do we care about it?? We all have the right to freedom of religion but so do others. Well if there are riots we are a part of it. If there is lack in public transport facility then who is burning the buses- is it the politicians or is it the terrorists. NO its all of us who are responsible.
If one of us wants to change something we say, ”tu akela kya kar lega.” But we don’t realize ki -ek ke do phir do ke chaar….aur phir is tarah badhte badhte sab badlenge……aur phir ek din desh badlega…jaroor badlega aur ise aur koi nahi hum badlenge. So don’t care about what others are doing just do what you can. If no one pays attention don’t worry because they wont be able to ignore you for long. You should be on the right side and that is all what matters. Don’t put it on tomorrow rather start acting today.
Act today for a better tomorrow…..for a better nation……for a better INDIA
From hockey grounds to the cricket, from Satyagrah to the Green revolution and from Takshilla to the IITs and IIMs India as a state has grown up in almost every aspect of human life but has lived with the fact that the rate of growth of thinking of the people will be a tedious process. Incidents keep on happening which depict the narrow mindedness of people over social, political and secular issues. Nobody tries to think about the 420 million people of India who live below the poverty line yet all of them would spend days to figure out "Why Tendulkar didn't perform". Sometimes, they would built a temple for a man and later they would burn his effigies outside his home. Indians need to be humble in victory, gracious in defeat and calm and patient in difficult times. Two girls died in Kashmir, people immediately lost calm, agitation led to furious protests and marchs; many people died and hundreds more got injuries, countless vechiles were burnt and the economic activity of the state came to a halt within few days leading only to more bloodshed and more anger. If the people had showed a little patience and had protested silently, the situation would have been far better. Why don't we protest when a poor man dies of water and heat in summer, of cold in winter and of hunger almost every other day. Why do we just passby when someone met an accident on the road nearby. The fact remains that most of the Indians only do things which entertain them and nothing else. They like to throw stones at the police when the matter can be solved with talks only because they love to destroy others' property.
Crores of educated men would watch all the 450 overs and 40 hours of a test match but nobody would take up the task of educating one poor child for 2 hours a week and then they say our education system is faulty. Millions of women would watch more than 8 hours of TV serials daily and yet again would add to the plight of India when it comes tolet a helping hand to its poor people. I believe everything is mortal except time -the most precious of all wealths and this is right time to change the thinking of people as India stands tall and yet young (60% of Indians are less than 40 years of age). The need of the hour is the policy of LPG to be strenghten among the minds of Indians - Liberalization to broaden the thinking of masses, Privatisation to pursue individuals to educate the masses and Globalization to remove the division of society on the basis of caste, color, sex, region and religion. The minds of the masses needed to be changed to see the India as dreamed by Gandhi and Nehru. In the end, i would say it is we and we only who can change our thinking and noone else can. Start working today to see a better India to an extent that if someone asks "what is you religion?" you wonder, "Religion, haven't heard of the word before".

come on india : This is the right time...do something before it gets too late
all the time indians blame our country for not having services like any other developed countries and blame our politicians for not doing anything for the country. but we do tend to forget what we do for our country. Enough is enough!!! Stop makin excuses "we have been free for ONLY 60 odd yrs and it will take time to develop. dont forget when we got freedom second world war was just over and all the eurpoean countries were badly destroyed. and now you can see the diffrence between us and them.
we have to fight against the problems of our country.
lets promise with ourselves that we will make INDIA a developed nation.
How many of us do really care about looking for a dustbin to throw the waste. While on the move most of us tend to throw our waste on the road, through the windows, below the seats in public transport....... and then we say Indian roads are dirty. What do you have to say about it?
I say lets take a resolution we will always throw our waste in dustbin doesn't matter if we have to carry waste for the whole day in our pocket or bag?
Lets pledge to make this a better country with this small little step that i hope we all can take........
With a high expectation of cooperation from all.....
